a.lure Owner Daniel Berman opened his restaurant March 31 to a welcoming Savannah crowd and on Tuesday, May 1st, he will officially “cut the ribbon,” with an authentic tasting and donation to Second Harvest Food Bank.

“It’s an awesome show of community support from a.lure, although Daniel has never shied away from getting involved,” says Mary Jane Crouch, executive director of America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia.  “We also love the restaurant concept and feel comfortable that we’ll have lots of opportunities to work together in the future.”

Tuesday beginning at 5:00pm, anyone may drop in for $15 per person.  a.lure will entertain you with samples from their regular menu as well as samples of wine.  All proceeds from the evening will go to help Second Harvest.

“Summer time is a crucial time for Second Harvest with the extra need to stock the shelves at the food bank.  When local schools are not in session, access to balanced meals is particularly challenging for children of low-income families.  We wanted to be a part of getting hot food on the table for a number of our less fortunate,” explains a.lure Owner Daniel Berman.

America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia was established in 1981 as a locally inspired, volunteer-driven nonprofit food bank. The organization serves twenty-one counties in southeastern Georgia and works with more than 300 other organizations to feed the hungry and strengthen communities.

“It’s important to give back to the people that support us, and we are excited to tie in our community dedication to our official grand opening,” says Berman, “we know several individuals that will take this opportunity to try our new menu and give to an incredible cause.”

a.lure’s Farm to Fork concept brings unique organic and local options to its customers and the affordability and environmental responsibility allows patrons an opportunity to frequent the establishment.  Shopping with local purveyors, creating tastes from regional flavors, keeps you visiting, as we like to say  – ASAP, or As Southern As Possible!
