CHARLES ZERAN, EXECUTIVE CHEF
Chef Charles Zeran took an unusual path get where he is today. He neither went to culinary school, nor worked under any other chefs prior to running his first kitchen. A previous career as a divorce attorney and a lifelong love of food and wine preceded Charles’ entry into the restaurant business at the age of thirty-two. He has developed his own innovative style of cuisine, free of the constraints often indoctrinated into chefs that have followed a more traditional path.
For more than 2 decades, Chef Charles has been cooking across the United States, beginning his second career in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. His travels have taken him to the Washington wine country, the D.C. area, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania, to his homeland of Memphis, TN and now, finally to Savannah, GA.
Winning awards from DiRoNA and Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast Magazine, opentable.com and TripAdvisor – Chef Charles has gained critical acclaim wherever he has travelled. He has also received Four Diamond designation from AAA at two of his previous positions and was listed in Washingtonian Magazine’s annual “Very Best Restaurants” list for four consecutive years.
Now with a.lure, Chef Charles is excited by his regional discoveries, and extracting global perspectives from his past, Charles knows how to tell the local tale through dining experiences.
